La Demanda de Educación Superior ante el Cambio Tecnológico y la Inteligencia Artificial

Abstract

Este artículo analiza, utilizando datos españoles, el impacto que el cambio tecnológico y la inteligencia artificial pueden tener sobre la demanda de estudios universitarios. Se parte de un análisis retrospectivo de la evolución de la demanda en las últimas tres décadas. Después, partiendo de la literatura académica que analiza el grado de exposición de cada ocupación al cambio tecnológico y utilizando los patrones de empleabilidad de los distintos grados universitarios, se elaboran tres índices (índice RTI (Routine Task Intensity), índice de exposición a la inteligencia artificial e índice de exposición al software) para cada grado. Los índices elaborados, basados en la exposición de los grados al cambio tecnológico de los distintos grados universitarios, son muy informativos para explicar tanto las salidas laborales como el salario esperado de sus egresados. Los índices pueden ser utilizados para mejorar el diseño de los estudios universitarios y también como indicadores de en qué grados es esperable una mayor demanda en el futuro. Finalmente, utilizando microdatos del proceso de admisión de la Comunidad de Madrid donde los estudiantes revelan sus preferencias, se diseña otro indicador para ordenar los grados según la demanda insatisfecha.
