Las dimensiones del bienestar en las Comunidades Autónomas Españolas. Un análisis de Sigma y Gamma-Convergencia

Abstract

Convencionalmente las evaluaciones del bienestar utilizan como indicador de nivel de vida el PIB por habitante. Este trabajo trata de aportar una perspectiva distinta del bienestar. Con este propósito se ha construido una base de datos para las Comunidades Autónomas (CC.AA.) españolas y el periodo 1980-2001 con la que se ha calculado una versión ampliada del Índice de Desarrollo Humano (IDHA) del PNUD. Los resultados muestran que, si bien se ha producido una importante reducción de las disparidades en el IDHA, este proceso no ha supuesto una alteración en el orden inicial de las CC.AA. según su nivel vida.
