Abstract

Financial integration challenges in ASEAN beyond 2015 can be grouped into two broad classes. The first classes of challenges are the regulatory and infrastructure challenges of financial market integration itself. The second pertains to monetary and fiscal policy regimes and how they are impacted by as well as how they impact on an integrated financial market in the region. The paper focuses on the integration in banking sector and the discussion in it considers the implications that the integration measures or strategies have on monetary policy of a country.
