Elementos para un diagnóstico actualizado del fenómeno de la migración del estado de Oaxaca, México

Abstract

En este documento se presentan los cambios más significativos de la migración internacional hacia los Estados Unidos que presentan los municipios de muy alta y alta intensidad migratoria del estado de Oaxaca en el período de 2000 a 2010, así como la situación de la migración interna, en particular de los jornaleros agrícolas. Dentro de estos cambios destacan el incremento de los municipios indígenas y de municipios rurales en el circuito de la migración internacional y los cambios sociodemográficos que conlleva: incremento de hogares con jefatura femenina, disminución de tasas de crecimiento poblacional, entre otros. También se presentan algunos efectos económicos particularmente el incremento en los porcentajes de hogares que reciben remesas y evidentemente el incremento en el volumen de ingresos que reciben los municipios, así como su contribución en la disminución de la pobreza en los mismos.
