Abstract

Cela fait plusieurs mois que les médias se font abondamment l’écho du développement des MOOCs. Derrière cet acronyme un peu barbare (qui se prononce ‘Moûk’) se cachent de nouvelles méthodes pour dispenser l’enseignement supérieur. MOOC signifie en effet «Massive Open Online Course» ou, en français, «cours en ligne ouvert et massif» : ‘en ligne’ parce que tout l’enseignement est suivi sur Internet, ‘ouvert’ parce que n’importe qui peut y accéder et ‘massif’ parce que rien n’empêche que des milliers d’étudiants suivent le même cours au même moment. Ces cours sont offerts par des plateformes Internet qui apparaissent comme de nouveaux acteurs dans le paysage de l’enseignement supérieur, acteurs dont le fonctionnement et les impacts potentiels se doivent d’être analysés.
