República liberal y cultura popular en Colombia. 1930-1946

Abstract

Como tópico y como moda, la llamada cultura popular *o culturas populares, como luego se escribió- se impuso hace ya unos 20 anos a los investigadores en ciencias sociales en Colombia Aquí no nos interesa restablecer la génesis de ese preciso fenómeno, a la vez ideológico y académico, sino solamente llamar la atención sobre dos características, en apariencia contradictorias, que rodearon su reciente emergencia, y decimos reciente por cuanto el problema de la investigación de las culturas populares tenia antecedentes notables en nuestro medio, aunque estos fueron en realidad ignorados con cierta dosis de soberbia por quienes a principios de los anos 80s comenzaron a plantearse de nuevo el problema, pensando tal vez que desembarcaban en tierra virgen.
