Abstract

Con este ensayo se argumenta que la labor de evaluar el impacto de las leyes no puede ser un ejercicio teórico sino que requiere de un enfoque especializado, empírico, local y multidisciplinario. De la criminología, una disciplina auxiliar del derecho penal, se pueden obtener valiosas lecciones prácticas, teóricas y normativas. Se resume cómo la criminología ha abordado el tema de la recolección de información. Se hace referencia a las ensenanzas teóricas de esta disciplina para el debate conceptual sobre el crimen. Se sugieren pautas metodológicas para evaluar el impacto de las reformas legales.
