¿Maltrato fiscal?

Abstract

El presente artículo examina de manera crítica la tesis nacionalista del maltrato fiscal, tanto en lo que respecta a la financiación del Gobierno regional catalán como al saldo fiscal de la comunidad autónoma. Su conclusión es que las quejas nacionalistas no están bien fundamentadas. Con las cifras en la mano, Cataluña no está especialmente maltratada en términos de su financiación o de su saldo fiscal si la comparamos con otras regiones de renta relativa similar, tanto dentro como fuera de España. Esto no quiere decir, por supuesto, que no haya cosas más que discutibles en nuestro sistema de financiación regional o en la distribución territorial del gasto de la Administración Central española
