Abstract

Supply chains cannot operate today without information technology (IT). Although IT is critical for effectively and efficiently managing supply chains, it is well-established that the crux of supply chain management concerns the relationships formed between and among firms that form the interorganizational structures which provide the products and services to the final consumer. Hence, we need to recognize how evolving technologies align with and support supply chain relationships. This chapter provides a high-level perspective of the role digitalization has in supply chain management and specifically with supply chain relationships.
