Abstract

Based on a comparison between 15 cases in the EU and the US, this paper outlines and details six typical ‘business model’ configurations for so-called wireless cities. It attempts to identify the optimal mix between the inputs provided by public bodies to these initiatives, and the leverage and returns gained by them in order to fulfill various policy objectives.
