Abstract

2021 has been declared by the UN as the year of creative economy for sustainable development. Creativity and culture are now recognized as key sectors for global recovery: they contribute to dialogue and understanding among peoples and at the same time are fertile areas for innovation as well as inclusive and sustainable growth (This is according to the report published on the platform “Creativity, Culture, and Capital”—which brings together international stakeholders in the culture and creativity industry—titled Impact investing in the global creative economy, January 2021. The report explains how investment in the sector will be crucial to major global challenges and refers to the resolution passed on December 19, 2019, by the 74th United Nations General AssemblyUnited Nations General Assembly and supported by more than 81 countries, declaring 2021 the international year of the creative economy for sustainable development).
