Abstract

This chapter briefly describes developmental challenges and vulnerabilities faced by the two countries having similar social, economic, and environmental conditions. The governments of Bangladesh and India are aiming at improved sanitation, health, education, financial inclusion, security, and dignity of all, especially women. At the same time, they are also simultaneously prioritizing improvement of environmental development with respect to soil, water, air, and the biosphere by treating the challenge of climate change adaptation as an opportunity rather than a problem. This chapter posts discussion of the institutional framework to analyze efforts and commitments of these countries toward meeting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) or the Agenda 2030.
