Abstract

El propósito de este trabajo es examinar las condiciones de operación de la banca comercial en México y sus implicaciones sobre la oferta de crédito. Se considera que las características de la estructura de activos y pasivos, así como los indicadores de rentabilidad tienen efectos determinantes en la oferta de crédito; para probar esto se desarrolla un modelo econométrico para datos en panel de efectos aleatorios, a partir de información de los estados financieros de los siete bancos de mayor capitalización en el país para el periodo 2002-2014.
