Pflegenotstand auf Intensivstationen: Berechnungen zum Ausmaß der Unterbesetzung im Pflegedienst der Intensivstationen deutscher Krankenhäuser

Abstract

Auf Intensivstationen herrscht, wie in allen anderen Bereichen der Pflege auch, Fachkräftemangel. In der Pandemie standen Intensivstationen besonders im Fokus und währenddessen haben sich dort Personalausfälle und damit Versorgungsengpässe nochmals verschärft. Auf Basis des Krankenhausregisters wird berechnet, dass bundesweit ca. 50.800 Vollkräfte im Pflegedienst der Intensivstationen erforderlich wären, um die insgesamt 21.000 belegten Intensivbetten adäquat zu betreuen. Das Papier diskutiert verschiedene Ansätze zur Personalbemessung sowie sozialpolitische Handlungsempfehlungen.
