Abstract

Die Wiener Stadtwirtschaft zeigte sich im 1. Halbjahr 2023 trotz der schwierigen internationalen und nationalen Konjunkturlage robust. Die reale Bruttowertschöpfung wuchs um 1,3%, vor allem dank den Bereichen Informationstechnologie und Tourismus, während sich der Handel rückläufig entwickelte. Der Arbeitsmarkt blieb mit einem Beschäftigungswachstum von 2,1% und einer Arbeitslosenquote von 10,5% stabil. Für 2023 wird ein geringes Wachstum der Bruttowertschöpfung von 0,1% und ein Beschäftigungswachstum von 1,8% erwartet. Hinsichtlich der ökologischen Transformation der Wirtschaft zeigt sich Wien mit einem Energieverbrauch pro Beschäftigten weit unter dem Durchschnitt der österreichischen Bundesländer, einer mittelfristigen Reduktion dieses Verbrauchs um mehr als ein Fünftel und einem rückläufigen Gesamtendenergieverbrauchs auf dem richtigen Weg.
