Abstract

The Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE) is an autonomous university-level institution dedicated to the generation, acquisition, and propagation of knowledge about Economics and other social science fields, with a special focus on Pakistan. Although the emphases have changed from time to time, its underlying commitment since its inception in 1957 has been to produce high-quality research for educational and policy purposes. The Golden Jubilee of PIDE also marks the coming of age of this centre of excellence.
