Abstract

El documento incluye los tres trabajos más destacados del Seminario de Investigación Económica de la Universidad del Pacífico del 2006. El estudio de Coloma y Florián aborda un tema de mucha actualidad: el tamaño actual de la población peruana y su proyección futura, teniendo en cuenta que la migración hacia el exterior se ha acelerado en los últimos años. Por su parte, el trabajo de Monteverde y Villacorta formaliza la conexión entre la inversión en educación y el crecimiento de la economía, y evalúa la viabilidad del cumplimiento del Objetivo del Milenio en educación para el caso peruano. Por último, la investigación de Decaroli evalúa el impacto económico del impuesto a las transacciones financieras en nuestro país.
