Abstract

En este libro el lector encontrará una exposición didáctica de los principales modelos que se han desarrollado en los últimos años para explicar cómo funcionan las empresas y los mercados. Los cinco primeros capítulos tratan sobre la teoría de la empresa y las estrategias de una empresa monopólica para mejorar sus ganancias mediante políticas de discriminación de precios y restricciones verticales. En los seis siguientes capítulos se estudia la interacción estratégica en mercados oligopólicos, para lo cual se analizan tanto las prácticas colusivas como la aplicación de barreras de ingreso al mercado, el empleo de la publicidad, la propiedad intelectual, y las estrategias para superar a los rivales.
