Diez años del Sistema Privado de Pensiones (1993-2003): avances, retos y reformas

Abstract

Gracias a la reforma previsional hoy contamos con más de 3 millones de afiliados, un fondo de pensiones que bordea el 10% del PBI y jubilados que reciben pensiones que duplican las del régimen público. Sin embargo, una gran mayoría de la fuerza laboral no tiene cobertura previsional alguna, y el Estado aún enfrenta el problema de un sistema público de pensiones que no tiene fondos para cubrir el costo de atender la deuda previsional. Los autores analizan los avances luego de la primera década de funcionamiento de las AFP, evalúan los retos que aún falta enfrentar, y exploran las posibles vías de reforma que se podrían seguir para fortalecer el Sistema Privado de Pensiones.
