Österreichische Wirtschaft expandiert mittelfristig nur schwach. Update der mittelfristigen Prognose 2024 bis 2028

Abstract

Begünstigt durch den internationalen Aufschwung erholt sich die österreichische Wirtschaft langsam von der Rezession 2023 (–0,8%). Für 2025 erwartet das WIFO ein reales Wirtschaftswachstum von 1¾%. Für 2024/2028 wird ein durchschnittlicher BIP-Zuwachs von 1¼% p. a. prognostiziert (Ø 2010/2019 +1,5% p. a.). Der demografische Wandel verstärkt im Prognosezeitraum die Arbeitskräfteknappheit. Dies trübt einerseits die Wachstumsaussichten, verringert jedoch andererseits die Arbeitslosigkeit: Die Arbeitslosenquote wird bis 2028 auf voraussichtlich 5,7% zurückgehen (2024: 6,7%). Der seit Ende 2021 beobachtete kräftige Preisauftrieb (Ø 2022/23 +8¼% p. a.) verlangsamt sich über den Prognosehorizont deutlich (2024: 3,8%) und erreicht 2027 das 2%-Ziel der EZB. Die Defizitquote liegt 2024/2028 bei durchschnittlich knapp 3% des nominellen BIP; die Staatsschuld steigt von 76½% auf gut 78% des BIP.
