Tasa óptima de empresarialidad y desarrollo económico. Evidencias para el caso español

Abstract

El fenómeno emprendedor se ha convertido a lo largo de los últimos años en objeto frecuente de actuación por parte de los responsables en materia de política económica y de estudio por parte de la ciencia. El propósito de nuestro estudio es analizar cómo es la evolución de la tasa de empresarialidad de equilibrio a medida que una economía alcanza mayores niveles de desarrollo, cuál es la respuesta de la tasa de empresarialidad ante contextos de desequilibrio, y de qué modo se ha comportado la tasa empresarialidad frente al óptimo en las regiones españolas. Tras de una serie de hipótesis, hemos construido un modelo de dos ecuaciones estimado con datos provinciales del periodo 1998-2002. A partir del mismo hemos constatado la existencia de: una relación inicialmente decreciente y después creciente entre el nivel de desarrollo y la tasa de equilibrio, un mecanismo automático de ajuste ante situaciones de desequilibrio en la tasa de empresarialidad, y un comportamiento muy heterogéneo en la evolución de
