Problems and Challenges of Women Police in Twin Cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi

Abstract

Purpose: The current study focuses on the problems and challenges of women police in twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi form sociological point of view.Methodology Forty-three women police officials as participants were chosen through quota sampling from twin cities. The data was collected through in-depth interviews and analyzed through thematic analysis by applying the requisite procedures.Findings: The participants’ highlighted different problems which were facing by them in the police department, family and public. It was hard to perform the official duties with the family obligations as daughter, mother and sister at home etc. The negative reaction of public was also a hurdle for women police.Originality/Value: This study will be beneficial for researchers, policy makers, government officials, police department’s officials to get impact for the future role of women police along with effective implementing mechanism of the solution to their problems.
