Entwicklung von Organisationstheorien als Zeitgeistphänomen

Abstract

Zusammenfassung Zunächst wird die Frage aufgeworfen, ob in der wissenschaftlichen Diskussion überhaupt Raum für Einwirkungen des Zeitgeists vorhanden ist. Es wird gezeigt, dass die auch in der wissenschaftlichen Diskussion präsente Rhetorik ein Einfallstor für den Zeitgeist bildet. Auch gehört die Managementtheorie zu denjenigen Wissenschaftsfeldern, in denen die Begründung neuer, denn Zeitgeist folgenden Paradigmen, relativ leicht fällt. Es wird der Annahme nachgegangen, dass die Verbreitung und Verschärfung von Evaluationen Wissenschaftler dazu veranlasst, sich verstärkt an langfristigen Trends des Zeitgeists, etwa an Trends zur Quantifizierung, Ökonomisierung und Empirisierung, zu orientieren. Eine empirische Analyse von Habilitationsprojekten unterstützt diese Annahme, wenn auch nur schwach. Abschließend wird erörtert, wie dem Trend zur Einseitigkeit in der Organisationstheorie begegnet werden kann.
