Abstract

Social innovations could potentially serve as a means for society to play a role in solving social problems. Such innovations stem from an active population and non-state non-profit organizations (NPO). As a new model for civil society’s collaboration with the state, social innovations enable the population to better self-organize and act. This article examines the potential and contribution of Russian NPOs to the development of social innovations.
