Abstract

The authors begin from the idea that the results of human action, i.e. lifestyle, are induced by the thinking system of each individual, by his or her attitude, respectively by the behaviour which resumes each person’s actions. On this ground, a function of cause and effect type is being built. The core issue is that in a global society, there is a great influence that man exercises on what is exterior to him, but also a great influence that he in turn experiences, both for good and for bad. These influences are then often seen in the choices that we make when meeting our wants. Such being the case, we argue that at the founding of a consumer society lies a philosophy which emphasizes that well-being, happiness, are proportionate with the acquisition of goods.
