Abstract

. Classification JEL : H4, H5, R5 [eng] What price for social mix in France ? . Social mix is a legitimate objective of urban renovation policies because society cannot support any more the cost of social segregation. Did a century of researches on social mix and efforts expended to establish some « city » in districts worth trouble if we consider today that the second generation of « high-rise estates » is likely to be sacrificed ? Do we have to follow the Utopia of a socially mix city which has never existed ? Or do we have to give to inhabitants the means of a spatial, but also social and cultural, mobility ? How to change from the logic of « net » to the logic of « lock » ? This article tries to answer these questions. . JEL classification : H4, H5, R5
