Abstract

Ötven éven keresztül az információs forradalomban minden az adatok körül forgott: az adatgyűjtés, adattárolás, adatátvitel és adatmegjelenítés körül. Az információs technológiából a technológiára összpontosítottak. Manapság azonban egyre gyakrabban és egyre erőteljesebben fogalmazódik meg a kérdés: Mi a jelentése az információnak, és mi a célja?\" (Drucker [1998] 47. o.) ez akár a mottója is lehetett volna a Six Countries keretében Knowledge Transfer in the Information Age címmel megtartott konferenciának. A házigazda tisztét a rendezvénynek otthont adó OMFB ügyvezető elnökhelyettese, Siegler András töltötte be. Megnyitó előadásában arról szólt, hogy a konferencia nem csak ismeretek közlése (tutorial), célja legalább annyira a vita, új gondolatok felvetése, amelyekben éppen újdonságvoltuk miatt még nem alakulhatott ki konszenzus. A következőkben a konferencia legfontosabb gondolatait szeretnénk közreadni ám kissé rendhagyó módon. Nem csupán az elhangzottakat ismertetjük, de alkalmanként összevetjük azokat a szakirodalomban olvasható megállapításokkal, sőt ezen írás szerzője (maga is a konferencia résztvevője) némely ponton a saját véleményét is hozzáfűzi az elhangzottakhoz. Ez a mentség a konferenciaismertetés szokásosnál hosszabb terjedelemére. Az információs korszak és a tudásalapú gazdaság kérdései fontosságukhoz mérten viszonylag ritkán kerülnek szóba Magyarországon, s talán ez is megengedhetővé teszi a kissé részletesebb taglalásukat a konferencia ürügyén.
