A magyar gabonafélék és feldolgozott termékeinek komparatív előnyei és versenyképessége az EU-15 országok piacain
[The comparative advantages and competitiveness of Hungarian cereals and cereal preparations on the markets of the EU 15]

Abstract

A cikk a magyar gabonafélék és feldolgozott termékeinek komparatív előnyeit és hátrányait, valamint versenyképességét vizsgálja az EU-15 piacain. A versenyképesség és a komparatív előny fogalmát a szakirodalom együtt kezeli, noha világosak azok különbségei. A cikk az elméleti megfontolásokon túl a Balassa [1965] által kidolgozott megnyilvánuló komparatív előnyök módszertanát, illetve annak továbbfejlesztését alkalmazva, számos érdekes következtetésre jutott a magyar gabonafélék versenyképességét és komparatív előnyeit illetően. Egyfelől világossá vált, hogy Magyarország az EU-15 piacain a legtöbb esetben komparatív előnyt élvezett, igaz ezek többsége az alapanyagokkal kapcsolatban jelentkezett. E módszer révén az is kiderült, hogy az EU-15-tel folytatott kétirányú gabonakereskedelemben - amely meghatározó volt a vizsgált időszakban - a magyar gabonafélék alapvetően sikertelen minőségversenyt, ámde sikeres árversenyt folytattak. Sikerült továbbá bebizonyítani, hogy a magyar gabonafélék esetében a komparatív előnyök stabilabbnak bizonyultak, mint a versenyképesség. Journal of Economic Literature (JEL) kód: Q17.
