Abstract

This work presents a model of economic growth from the demand perspective, its explains the restriction imposed by the balance of payments, capital flows and debt service payment Ecuadorian growth in the period 1970–2008. Through the application of vector autoregressive (var) and the method of Soren Johansen (1991) it is possible to validate the aforementioned condition by confirming the significance for developing economies, is the inclusion of the debt service payment, and as this improves the predictability of the model proposed by Elliot and Rhodd (1999).
