Finansal kalkınmanın büyümeye etkileri: Literatür ve uygulama

Abstract

Finansal kalkınmanın büyüme üzerindeki etkileri son zamanlarda iktisat literatüründe tartışılan konuların başında gelmektedir. Tartışma esas itibariyle üç noktaya odaklanmaktadır. Birincisi, finansal sistemin gelişmesi büyümeyi arttırmakta mıdır? İkinci olarak, finansal kalkınma büyümeyi hangi yönde etkilemektedir? Son olarak, finansal kalkınmanın büyüme üzerindeki etkileri farklı gelir grubuna ait ülkelerde aynı mıdır? Yukarıdaki sorulara cevap arayan bu çalışma, panel veri analiz yöntemini kullanarak finansal kalkınmanın büyüme üzerindekini etkilerini düşük, orta ve yüksek gelirli 79 ülke örneği için 1980-2002 döneminde analiz etmektedir. Çalışmadan elde edilen sonuçlara göre, orta ve yüksek gelirli ülkelerin aksine, düşük gelirli ülkelerde finansal kalkınma büyümeyi negatif olarak etkilemektedir.
