I commercianti e l?immigrazione straniera: accoglienza e diffidenza

Abstract

Il lavoro analizza gli atteggiamenti e le opinioni dei commercianti romani sui cittadini stranieri, esponendo alcuni risultati di un?indagine svolta da un gruppo di lavoro del CISR - Centro di Ricerca su Roma della Sapienza Universit? di Roma. La categoria dei commercianti rappresenta un osservatorio privilegiato del fenomeno immigrazione, perch? esprime una domanda di manodopera che incontra facilmente l?offerta proveniente da lavoratori stranieri, spesso poco qualificata e a basso costo, e si trova ad avere molteplici occasioni di interazione con gli immigrati.. L?obiettivo principale dell?articolo ? comprendere come le dimensioni economica, sociale e individuale del piccolo imprenditore entrano in gioco nell?orientare l?opinione sull?inclusione degli stranieri nella societ? italiana. Le articolate posizioni dei commercianti sono sintetizzate attraverso due profili speculari di atteggiamento: quello dell?accoglienza e della diffidenza.
