Una aproximación interdisciplinar a la protección del Patrimonio cultural subacuático. El escenario un año después de la resolución del “Caso Odyssey”

Abstract

La protección del patrimonio cultural subacuático ha experimentado cierto impulso como consecuencia del expolio a manos de la empresa Odyssey Marine Exploration, suceso que causó gran impacto al trascender el daño originado como consecuencia de la sustracción de los bienes hallados en el pecio de la fragata Nuestra Señora de las Mercedes hundida en 1804. Tomando como referente este suceso, se realiza una revisión crítica de la actual protección del patrimonio cultural subacuático, enlazando la perspectiva jurídica con otras cuestiones y disciplinas relacionadas.
