Buenos Aires: a Cidade, seus Portos e Rios (1850-1911)

Abstract

Este artigo tem como objetivo entrelacar a história dos portos de Buenos Aires a própria construcao da Argentina como nacao, inserindo-se na mundializacao capitalista. A História Urbano-Portuária portena revela mais do que, como e aonde era efetuado o processo de carga/descarga, pode demonstrar como o Imperialismo Capitalista motivou a Segunda Revolucao Industrial para superar a Grande Depressao no centro do sistema, alargando as fronteiras do capital. O engenheiro Huergo e o empresário Madero aparecem como grandes agentes nesse processo, mas outras forcas foram motoras da expansao quantitativa da producao, circulacao, financiamento, populacao, etc. e da transformacao qualitativa da operacao portuária em Buenos Aires.
