Determinantes socioeconómicos de la informalidad laboral y el subempleo en el área metropolitana de Bucaramanga, Colombia

Abstract

En este artículo se analizan los determinantes socioeconómicos conjuntos de la informalidad laboral y el subempleo en el área metropolitana de Bucaramanga (AMB). Para ello se realizó un análisis descriptivo y se estimó un modelo biprobit a partir de los microdatos de la Gran Encuesta Integrada de Hogares de 2015. Los resultados muestran que el 16,52 % de los trabajadores del AMB padecen conjuntamente ambos fenómenos. Dentro de las variables que disminuyen la probabilidad de pertenecer a este grupo se encuentran la escolaridad, el ser hombre y la edad. Por su parte, variables como el tiempo transcurrido entre empleos y trabajar en el sector secundario o terciario incrementan la probabilidad conjunta de ser informal y subempleado.
