Modelo de segmentación basada en riesgo: una aproximación práctica al caso de las Sociedades Comisionistas de Bolsa en Colombia

Abstract

Resumen La reciente crisis económica de 2008 y la especial manifestación de sus efectos en las bolsas de valores a nivel nacional e internacional, han dejado claro que contar con las herramientas idóneas en la identificación y mitigación del riesgo financiero de los Intermediarios del Mercado de Valores (IMV) del sector, resulta de primer orden. El presente artículo contribuye a presentar de manera empírica la estimación del nivel de exposición al riesgo financiero de las Sociedades Comisionistas de Bolsa (SCB) en su actividad de intermediación de valores en el mercado colombiano, mediante el Modelo de Segmentación Basada en Riesgo (SBR), en el cual es posible establecer un ranking que identifique riesgos financieros potenciales, a partir del análisis de los elementos establecidos en la formulación de los indicadores desarrollados en la metodología y en las etapas de cálculo, los cuales tienen de manera inherente parámetros de supervisión integrados con la regulación existente del sector, a nivel local e internacional.
