El trabajo infantil rural en México y Argentina. El caso de dos complejos agroindustriales

Abstract

El artículo describe las características y el tipo de trabajo que realizan ninos y ninas en las actividades de la floricultura y la tabacalera. Busca dar cuenta de dos realidades socioeconómicas atravesadas por un mismo proceso global: el uso de la mano de obra asalariada dentro de los “nuevos” esquemas de producción que imponen los complejos agroindustriales (CAI). En la agricultura latinoamericana son las actividades estacionales altamente demandantes de mano de obra asalariada donde la presencia de mujeres y ninos adquiere protagonismo. En muchos casos son usados como complemento de la mano de obra familiar, pero en otros, ninos y ninas buscan el empleo para incrementar los ingresos económicos del hogar. La metodología utilizada es de corte cualitativo.
