¿Qué tan competitiva sigue siendo la cadena cárnica bovina?

Abstract

los autores de este trabajo estudiaron el comportamiento de la cadena exportadora de carne bovina en Uruguay desde una perspectiva económica, utilizando una matriz de análisis de políticas (MAP). La actividad ganadera, desde al campo hasta el puerto de salida del producto exportable, es competitiva en términos de sus ventajas comparativas. Pero si bien las políticas públicas muestran un efecto relativamente neutro sobre dicha competitividad, se encuentran en un límite tras el cual, un incremento de las transferencias por este mecanismo puede comprometer seriamente la competitividad del sector en cualquiera de sus eslabones.
