“Un desierto verde”. La agricultura pampeana (1988-2018): cosechas récord y crisis de la producción chacarera

Abstract

En el presente trabajo se estudian aspectos de un factor que contribuye al despoblamiento rural: el proceso de concentración económica en la región pampeana argentina, que se acentuó en los últimos treinta años de intenso avance productivo. En primer lugar, se procede a cuantificar este desarrollo, empleando indicadores de desigualdad para la etapa con datos censales (1988-2002) y sintetizando y ahondando en la información disponible para el período 2003-2018. En segundo término, se realiza un ejercicio de construcción de estructuras de costos diferenciando según tipo de explotación para exponer los mecanismos que generan el desplazamiento de la producción chacarera.
