Abstract

The issue of economic development has been addressed in recent literature as an important issue with a regional focus. Given this context, this study demonstrates the efforts of the State of Alagoas in the articulation of a regional development policy based on their calling local production. The base used for the analytical work was the neo-Schumpeterian development presented in Dosi, Freeman and Fabiani (1994), Mytelka and Farinelli (2005) and Cassiolato and Lastres (2005), supported the concept of territorial resources specific post by Maskell and Malmberg (1999) and Storper (1997). The methodology used is descriptive data from primary field research and secondary data from Sebrae-AL, Ministry of Agriculture and Codevasf.
