Abstract

This paper investigates the effect of migration on per capita yield growth, convergence velocity and half-life index for Brazilian states. The framework was based on the specification of Augmented Solow-Swan model with migration to analyze that effects on model’s parameters, and the empirical strategy the correction of endogeneity bias the use of a set of instrumental variables accomplished with tests of Lagrange Multiplier (LM), Anderson-Rubin test (AR), and test of Conditional Likelihood Ratio (CLR). The results show that the migration affected positively the unrestricted convergence to increase velocity and reduce the halflife index. Some parametric signs corroborate with theoretical literature while others appear inconsistency to Solow-Swan Augmented framework.
