Existe en el mundo una seria preocupación por la creciente escasez de agua, un recurso de importancia vital en la vida del hombre y en la economía del planeta. En países áridos y semiáridos como el Perú se observa una brecha cada vez más profunda entre la disponibilidad y la demanda de agua.
