As eleições para a Câmara e o Senado Federal, tendo como resultado as eleições de José Sarney (PMDB) para a Presidência do Senado e Michel Temer(PMDB) para a Presidência da Câmara dos Deputados, revelam um jogo de bastidores em que o objetivo é ganhar a corrida para a sucessão presidencial.
